The Oberammergau passion play is coming up in 2010, and my mother and I are thinking of going. We are looking into the tours that offer this package.

Has anyone ever seen it? Is it really 7 hours long, with dinner intermission? I presume it is in German; if so, could you understand it?

One is an definitely spirit this is caught or lost and nevertheless exists right here with out physique. One is a psychic imprint, like a tape of an experience enjoying frequently. One is a window of a few style into the previous or destiny. besides, I surely have never seen a ghost yet i've got felt them, and heard them. i became into on the very-haunted Stanley hotel final 12 months, in an empty ballroom looking out the window at my acquaintances shooting. the only different element interior the room became right into a small bandstand with a grand piano. As I went to the door, the piano performed a word. It have been given somewhat chilly. I went and regarded into the piano. I sat on the bandstand and regarded decrease than the piano. I mentioned "ok, i will stay a minute, if that's what you like, yet then I would desire to bypass." It became into somewhat chilly and there have been little noises like somebody working their hands over the strings, yet i did no longer look. while the chilly stopped, I mentioned "see you later" and that i went out into the foyer. that's no longer basic to be proficient with the sensitivity to work out those issues, I fought it for years and have only began to settle for it these days.

I saw it videotaped, and yes, it is that long. As I'm Bavarian myself and used to play a minor role in another laymen actors' group I was interested in it, and a friend sent me that VHS tape. One cassette is good for an 8 hour recording, and I think she cut out the breaks, and it was 7 1/2. It's in German and partly in Bavarian dialect, but it's about the story of the passion of Jesus Christ, so if you know the story, you'll understand what's going on on stage. Do get your tickets right now if you really want to go, as Oberammergau has become almost as famous as the Vienna or Milano opera, and if you don't buy two years in advance, it will be sold out.

I've always wanted to go to that. I was stationed in Germany for 3 years from 1989 to 91. They had it then when I was there but I didn't get to go for some reason. I had a friend who went to it. He said it was incredible. If you have a chance to go, by all means go. I would like to go. Perhaps I should start saving my money so I can go too. Thanks for the info!
